My wife and I were ready to leave the party. There was just one thing to do: find our kids. First of all, I found my son and I told him ‘go find your sister.’ He knew by that command that I expected him to go and find her and bring her back to me.

Jesus has done something similar for us. God the Father said to him ‘go find my children,’ so he went. He came, and he lived, and died, he paid for all of mankind sins so that everyone could be with the Father in heaven.

Just before Jesus was crucified he said this to his disciples.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again to take you to be with me, so that you may also be where I am. (John 14:1-3)

God the Father and Jesus want you in heaven. Jesus came once, lived, died, and paid for all of your sins. Now he’s coming again. And when he comes again he’s not going to come humbly as a baby in Bethlehem he’s going to come in all his glory and he will rescue those who believe in him and take them to be with him forever in heaven.

Jesus loves you and he wants you to be with him in heaven. He comes to you through His Word to prepare you when he comes on that great day. So read his word, be assured of his forgiveness. Be assured that he is prepared a place for you in heaven. Amen.
