Lord, My Heart is Heavy

Lord, my heart is heavy. Do you feel weak and heavy ladened? Hear this message of Hope and Peace from the book of 1 John.

1 John 3:20

I never know exactly when it’s going to happen. Sometimes it’s because something bad has happened. Sometimes it’s because I just got time to think, but it happens when I start to look at my past.

I look at the ways that I’ve messed up. I look at the ways that I’ve sinned, I’ve hurt the people around me, and my heart just begins to sink. Because I know I’m guilty. I’m not who I want to be and I’m not who God wants me to be.

When those moments strike and I’m overwhelmed with guilt and my heart begins to sink I remember this verse written for us in 1 John Chapter 3.

If our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts. (1 John 3:20)

God is greater than our hearts. He is the judge of all and God has declared that in Jesus my sins are forgiven and so are the sins of the whole world. That means your sins are forgiven too.

So when your heart begins plummeting with guilt and you are overwhelmed. Remember God is greater than your heart. He loves you and forgives you everything you’ve ever done wrong because Jesus lived, died, and rose again for you.

So lift up your hearts God is greater than them and loves you in Jesus. Amen.
