What’s the magic word?

Happy Thanksgiving! 🙏🏻 What are you thankful for?

Psalm 107:1

What’s the magic word? Johnny? What do you say?

We can be so peculiar about teaching our kids to have good manners. “Please” and “thank you” are the magic words. Well what about saying thank you for all the things that we receive from an unseen hand?

God showers so many blessings on us both physical and spiritual. And yet his hand is unseen so often we forget to say please and thank you. We forget to return and give thanks.

In Psalm 107 we read.

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good for his mercy endures forever. (Psalm 107:1)

The things that we receive from God are all by His mercy. We don’t deserve them in any way. In fact we shouldn’t get them because of the way that we have lived.

But God is rich in mercy and he gives us food and clothing home and family. All these things simply because he chooses to love us. But the greatest thing that he has given us the greatest sign of His mercy is the giving of Jesus. He sent Jesus to live and die for you so that you can enjoy life with him forever in heaven where you will never hunger or thirst or labor under the sun.

Yes we have much to give thanks to the Lord. It is right that we teach our kids please and thank you. Let’s not forget that unseen hand. God has been merciful to us. Let us give thanks to the Lord, amen.
