How much do you have in your bank account? I think most of us know the amount of money we’ve got in now bank account or bank accounts. We keep an eye on it and it is pretty important. We got to know how much money is at our disposal. How much do you have in your bank account?

The trouble is that as we focus on our financial resources they can gain a priority that isn’t right. Do you think God cares about how much money you have in your bank account? Well he certainly cares about providing for you but do you think when you die and you’re figuratively at the pearly gates that God’s going to look at your bank account to see if you’ve got enough to get into heaven.

Peter tells us that’s not how we redeemed. That’s not how were bought for God. He said in his first epistle:

You know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers not with things that pass away, such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ. (1 Peter 1:18-19)

There is one currency that can buy you heaven. It’s not silver or gold it’s not the money in your bank account. It’s not the car you drive or the house that you live in. It is Jesus precious blood.

That blood is precious because Jesus lived a perfect life. He is the only man, only person, to ever live a perfect life. And that blood is precious because Jesus poured it out in payment for all of your sins. On the day that you die the only thing that is going to matter is do you have the blood of Jesus. Is the precious blood of Jesus in your account?

By faith in him it is. Trust that Jesus has lived and died for you and you will be in heaven because he poured out that blood to buy you for God. Amen.
