Always With You

Jesus promises he will be with us. Always with us. Even when you think you're alone, Jesus is by your side.

Matthew 28:20

A father lovingly looks down at his son and promises him to, comfort him, I will never leave you. Though the father’s sentiment and desire is a worthy one, those words are hollow. They are hollow because we know there’s a time when the father and son are going to be separated. Because death will come and take one of them away.

We can long to be with our kids and provide and care for them, but our time is limited. Oh that we could be with each other forever.

Before he ascended into heaven, Jesus wanted to comfort his disciples. He said to them

And surely I am with you always until the end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)

Is that promise of Jesus hollow like the promise of the father to this son? No it’s not. Because Jesus has conquered death and Jesus as almighty God can promise to be with us always. So when the loneliness of life strikes your not really alone Jesus is with you. He loves you and has forgiven all of your sins through his death on the cross and he rose again from the grave so that you can know that nothing will separate him from you.

I am with you always. (Matthew 28:20)

He says and he can keep that promise. May Jesus presence comfort you and assure you that you are not alone. And that he will see you safely to heaven. Amen.
