Are You A Complete Person?

If anyone, whether they're married or single, is expecting another human being to complete them, they’re going to be disappointed.

John 10:10

Are you a complete person? When I talk to singles they often express, or at least some of them do, the idea that they’re not complete because they haven’t found that special someone to share their life with.

I just want to take a few minutes this morning to talk about that completeness. If anyone, whether they’re married or single, is expecting another human being to complete them, they’re going to be disappointed.

I love my wife but I can never be everything she needs to be complete. Only God can fill that role. Only Jesus can truly make someone complete. He said

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

So if you are lonely as a single Jesus is the answer. That doesn’t deny that friends are great companions, but completeness is found in God and in Jesus alone.

So grow closer to Jesus. Use the opportunities before you to spend time in his word and be strengthened and filled with His love. And maybe he will provide that special someone for you someday. Not to make you complete but because you are complete in him already.

God bless your days and fill them with completeness. Amen.
