God Cares about You

Matthew 10:29-30

I was once visiting with an elderly woman when she expressed this thought: that God was up in heaven and so busy with everything else that he didn’t have time for little old her.

Does God really care about us? Does he care about the intimate details in our lives?

In Matthew chapter 10 Jesus tells us:

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are numbered. So don’t be afraid; —Matthew 10:29-30

It is true that God is up in heaven and he is ruling all of creation. And what are we that he should be concerned about us? But Jesus tells us that even the hairs on your head are numbered.

The last time that you ran your hands through your hair, did you think about any of the hairs that would fall out? God did. The last time the breeze rustled your hair did you worry about any of those hairs that may have fallen out? God did.

God cares so much about you that he is even numbered the hairs on your head, but that’s not the greatest act of care that he has shown for you. He sent Jesus to live and die for you.

You are worth more than many sparrows. You’re worth so much the God was willing to suffer and die to forgive all of your sins. So as you go ahead with your week be assured that God cares.

He loves you because of Jesus. Amen.
